Fusion's Cloud Connections Link Englewood Hospital and Medical Center and the Town of Englewood
Solutions Deliver Community Internet, Wi-Fi and Cloud Connectivity
NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 06/04/14 -- Fusion (OTCQB: FSNND), a leading cloud communications, cloud connectivity and cloud computing services provider, announced today that it has successfully implemented its cloud connectivity service via an aerial dark fiber connection between the City of Englewood, New Jersey and the Englewood Hospital and Medical Center (EHMC) data center. The connection will be used primarily to deliver Internet and Wi-Fi services to businesses and visitors in the City of Englewood, and to EHMC patients and their guests, as well as enable these users access to cloud-based services.
A national cloud service provider with a robust nationwide network, Fusion has a strong local presence in northern New Jersey. The services will be monitored and maintained from Fusion's Wayne, New Jersey Network Operating Center, with 24 x 7 live coverage and support.
Fusion co-managed the project in concert with Ackrion, Inc., a provider of leading edge municipal outdoor Wi-Fi solutions, the Englewood Economic Development Corporation, and the Bergen Performing Arts Center, which hopes to use the new connection to enable live broadcast of entertainment and events.
According to Adam Brown, Chairman of the Englewood Economic Development Corporation, "A great combination of local charm and high energy, Englewood is a terrific place to live, work and play, with a dynamic business community that provides a whole host of products and services not only to our community, but to northern New Jersey and Manhattan as well. With hundreds of shops and boutiques, and restaurants and cafes offering everything from bagels to blinis, Englewood has something for everyone. Our businesses wanted a fast, secure and cost-effective way to connect with their customers. We listened and responded with this winning collaboration with EHMC and Fusion. It's all part of our ongoing commitment to deliver the kind of leading edge services that will support our community's growth, encouraging business and investment in our City."
Ron Fuschillo, EHMC CIO, commented, "EHMC has had a long and special history of collaboration with the town of Englewood. When Adam Brown first shared his vision for mutual purposing of this fiber connection, we were excited to be able to participate in such a meaningful way, lending our advanced infrastructure and support to the effort. It has been a pleasure to work with the outstanding Fusion team, who have managed the project in close concert with us from start to finish."
Matthew Rosen, Fusion CEO, said, "We are delighted to support this community effort, representing the strong partnership between a town and the hospital that serves it. For many years, Fusion has been committed to advancing the New Jersey business and healthcare community with a full complement of integrated cloud communications services, including voice and unified communications, cloud connectivity, cloud computing, storage, and business continuity. We will continue to find new ways to serve the vibrant, fast-growing City of Englewood and EHMC, which has been delivering the highest level of care since it first opened its doors 124 years ago in June 1890."
